About this role

As a key strategic component of BT’s converged all IP network; the Network Cloud Platform provides the high scale virtualised Compute, Storage and Connectivity services that underpin many of our critical network services, including our future mobile core.     

As part of a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team, you will be helping to design and build a highly automated, software defined platform built with many different systems, tools and technologies. You will have the opportunity to bring your passion for learning to bear on understanding and solving systems integration, automation and storage performance challenges. 

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Support our Storage environment, requiring management of risk and business impact.

• Support the identification and resolution of issues and defects to ensure delivery to required standard.

• Develop working relationships and communicates with a range of stakeholders across teams to ensure actions completed, progress updated and impacts on other components managed.

• Review own work and peers’ outputs to contribute to identify and flag errors or potential issues.

• Assist with planning and monitoring of all activities, from scoping to live, to ensure agreed scope and benefits are delivered in a contained project.

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Worked alongside colleagues/lead team through a period of intense stress and pressure

• Understand the financial impact of proposed changes or future development

• Suggested cost savings to assist budgets

• Delivered results when the deliverables were unclear

• Have in depth knowledge of Block Based Storage, Network File System Storage and CEPH

• Have knowledge of implementation within a virtualised environment (OpenStack Preferable)

• Proficient in the use of MS Office products
