About this role

In this job, you’ll be accountable for the performance of a digital product or group of products. You’ll operate at the tribe level which is a grouping of product squads. You’ll influence the experience of millions of customers. This role will have a material impact on the success of the Enterprise Digital Unit and your team of product owners will be looking to you for leadership and direction.

This role is the product lead for a tribe of 4-8 digital squads, responsible for the BT Wholesale public facing websites and apps. You’ll be responsible for making sure our web pages drive acquisitions and support the needs of the sales and marketing organisations.

You’ll be responsible for reporting and driving the business performance of your Digital journeys. You’ll collaborate and engage with your stakeholders to understand and interpret the commercial priorities and work with product owners to prioritise these into your backlogs. You’ll be the subject matter expert for BT Wholesale and Ventures performance metrics.

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • You’ll lead, motivate and manage a high performing team of product owners and ensure that their potential is achieved, best practices are shared and engagement attained. 
  • You’ll collate, distil and interrogate customer insight and business priorities to create a balanced view of customer needs and business challenges for your tribe.
  • You’ll define the overarching goals and objectives for your tribe. 
  • You’ll create, maintain and regularly iterate a roadmap and backlog for your tribe.
  • You’ll prioritise activities for your tribe based upon achieving validated learning as quickly as possible and maximising customer value.
  • You’ll help shape requirements for new initiatives from other areas in Digital. You’ll translate these commercial/ marketing/ service strategies and targets into a digital experience backlog for your tribe.
  • You’ll create business cases to secure investment and own budgets required to deliver outcomes for your tribe.
  • You’ll be accountable for the product performance of your tribe and expected to provide insightful reporting and create plans to assure it.
  • You’ll create an engaging and long-lasting connection with stakeholders up to and including the Enterprise board. 
  • You’ll have a collaborative way of working, within, and across tribes, breaking down any barriers to move relationships forward.

You'll have the following skills & experience

  • Experienced Senior Digital Product Owner
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies and experience leading multiple squads
  • Experience working with the Adobe marketing cloud, JIRA, confluence or other similar tools
  • Agile & Digital transformational experience a bonus
  • Experience of Human Centred design principles and Web Analytics.
