About this role

Excellent with SQL? In this important role, you will be supporting, developing, and delivering technical, data led strategies to improve customer experience by devising and driving initiatives through local Oracle based processes. 

The role is paramount to keeping BT on the front foot with defence mechanisms with the power of data analysis and insight management.

This work in this role allows us to create early warning indicators of potential issues and risk, it allows the business to use the insight to put the right mitigation in place to keep us safe. You will have a sound working knowledge of SQL. Using this to manipulate large data sets to identify process weaknesses and build better overall business controls.  

Stakeholder management will be key, as you are working with wider GCB&A teams and stakeholders within Group and the Customer Facing Unit’s (CFU’s). You will also proactively drive quality, compliance and promote the use of processes, systems and procedures that support the business goals, ensuring that best practice is adopted.

 

You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Responsible for specialist technical processes – supporting management and operational.
  • Support of key process, systems & supplier lead interfaces.
  • Create and maintain technical governance controls within operational teams to meet audit, regulatory and compliance commitments.
  • Responsible for delivering operational excellence in Group Customer Billing processes.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to ensure they are suitable for an ever-changing portfolio, complexity of systems estate and product offerings.
  • Responsible for building a proactive approach, identifying key trending to further de-risk our customer’s experience.
  • Supports improvement processes and projects which look at alignment and enhancement across functions/brand/channel and Customer Facing Unit.

 

You'll have the following skills & experience

  • Experience with IDEs (Integrated Development Environment) for Oracle databases such as SQL Developer / Toad (Tool for Oracle Application Developers).
  • Proficient in writing, executing, and running complex SQL queries.
  • Rational problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of reviewing and implementing business and IT controls.
  • Experience of working in a complex business environment ideally within the telecoms sector.
  • Experience in Billing / Collections Operations.
  • Understanding of UK & EU invoicing / billing legislation and regulatory environment.
  • RPA experience (Robotic Process Automation).
  • Project/change management experience.
