We have a new and exciting role as our Business Collections Strategy Professional, based in Stockport and moving to our new state of the art offices in central Manchester in 2023.
You’ll be a Collections process expert responsible for the ongoing improvement and implementation of processes, strategies and system changes.
You’ll provide support to operational collections teams so that they can achieve their cash and debt targets. You’ll deliver solutions which make our processes more efficient and effective.
You’ll also perform day to day technical administration tasks on our in-house collections application, as well as being closely involved in the system’s ongoing development.
The system supports all business collections teams and has operational stakeholders in the UK and worldwide. This part of the job includes system configuration including the maintenance of Dunning strategies.
You’ll work closely with our Technology teams analysing technical problems reported by agents, raising tickets and communicating fixes.
You’ll also have the opportunity to identify opportunities for system improvements and help to make them happen. This includes supporting our Technical teams with the design and development process, testing and deployment of system changes to the Live environment.

You'll have the following responsibilities
Managing stand-alone projects and change programmes relating to Collection’s process, strategy and systems
Proposing and implementing cost reduction and efficiency initiatives relating to business collections
Maintaining collections process documentation
Translating collections processes into Dunning strategies
Recommending, designing and managing the implementation of system changes
Day to day system administration, working with Technical Suppliers to implement changes, identify defects and resolve issues
Providing guidance and a point of reference to the Collections community on processes and systems – this will include engagement with teams in the UK and internationally
You'll have the following skills & experience
Mandatory Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in a billing/collections environment in either an operational, technical or strategic role
- Working with stakeholders to help them achieve objectives
- Communicating with stakeholders using a variety of media
- Managing multiple initiatives simultaneously and delivering on time
Preferred Experience:
- Experience within Process design
- Knowledge/experience of System configuration
- Knowledge/experience of System administration
- CICM qualifications
- Self-starter – uses initiative and identifies opportunities.
- Problem solving – proactively investigates and identifies solutions.
- Analytical – reviews, understands and interprets data effectively.
- Logical – has a methodical and reasoned approach to tasks.
- Technical –has experience of working with billing and/or collections applications.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications,
- Effective collaborator – works with stakeholders to identify solutions and influence outcomes.
- Agile – can work across multiple initiatives simultaneously, delivering quickly and with high degree of quality and accuracy.
- Communication – can effectively communicate using a variety of media.
