About this role

This is a key role in the Drone Team, where you will represent BT Drones to new and existing customers, building and maintaining relationships to drive PoC’s, collaboration, demonstrations and profitable sales.

This role will continue to build BT’s reputation in market as a key player in the Drone industry, having a significant role in opening up the sky for the future of drones. You will have an intimate understanding of customer needs, to champion the right product and proposition set for our customers, whether that be our initial drone detection service or future capabilities.

You will develop a deep understanding of our products and strategy, ensuring we work effectively with customers to understand their needs and how we can support them in their drone journey. You will act as an internal champion to work effectively with BT channel sales teams, delivery, product and proposition, marketing and key partners.

You'll have the following responsibilities

- Acting as an ambassador for BT and the Drone’s Team both in the external market and with internal stakeholders, demonstrating best in class sales behaviour and managing relationships

- Creating a thought leadership position for target market, identifying key trends, competitors, opportunities in industry to build strategic and tactical relationships to enable success of product in market.

- Building brilliant relationships with our internal channel sales teams, providing them with specialist insight, on customer, market and capability to make the sales journey easy and appealing to sell

- Define and execute against sales strategy for Drones

- Define Sales channel model and establish and contract indirect sales partners where strategically valuable

- Build proposals, manage contract negotiations for new and renewing customers with BT sales channel

- Working closely with Products and suppliers to build sufficient knowledge of technical capability to identify customer problem 

- Manage pipeline of opportunities effectively, building key metrics e.g. total market opportunity, addressability and traction achieved within

You'll have the following skills & experience

- Customer first: Passionate about customer needs, able to find the right mix of short term progress and long term value

- Technical acumen: Able to understand the service we are providing, to interpret a customer’s situation in context of the technology available 

- Outstanding communicator: to have written and verbal skills to influence and inform key stakeholders internally and externally

- Influence and manage stakeholders: Ability to communicate and influence internally and externally from different disciplines across sales, technical, delivery, legal etc.

- Negotiation: Able to create the best position for BT and the customer

- Commercial acumen: Able to evaluate opportunities and their value, and how best to achieve commercial in the short and long term.

- Financial acumen: Able to understand cost to supply and build effective proposals to customer
