About this role

The role has to keep fully abreast of all new technology developments in the device ecosystem to assess their likely impact on the EE network prior to market launch. This will involve performance analysis of devices and network, benchmarking device performances on new technologies, new radio features and capabilities. The role has to also keep fully aligned with device network interworking for services and features along with ensuring best in class customer experience of new features and technologies.

You'll have the following responsibilities

• To lead Device and Network Interworking and concept proving of new Radio technologies and features, driving enablement of new features on devices and overall service.
• Performance analysis of devices on new technologies and features.
• Benchmarking device performance between devices on new features and capabilities.
• Network performance and analysis from devices perspective.
• Provide technical insights on all device baseband, antenna and radio aspects.
• To investigate ongoing technical problems and provide expert consultation, information and solution from devices perspective to other teams involved in investigations.

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Working knowledge within mobile communications industry with through knowledge of 5G NR, ENDC, LTE, IMS, WCDMA, HSPA, GSM systems, WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC.
• Must have worked on analysing device traces and ensuring the message flow is as per 3GPP specifications. Experience with associating respective technical standards and specifications during performance analysis and problem-solving process.
• Extensive experience in working with device trace capturing and analysis tools such as QXDM, STT, XCAL and Shannon tools. Experience in using wide range of tools, network simulators and other tools required for device performance.
• Must have experience working with mobile device OEMs, Chipset Vendors, performing mobile device benchmarking and key performance measurements.
• Must have worked on IMS and has very good understanding of VoLTE, iWLAN and VoWiFi.
• Authoring or development of type approval specifications for device RAN and Core interworking, mobile applications, mobile voice, data and messaging services.
• Experience in the integration and/or testing of mobile devices, new radio technologies, capabilities and features within 5G NR, ENDC, LTE, Internet of Things (IoT) and WiFi. Any development experience would be even better.
• Must have good understanding of 3GPP standards and GSMA specifications.
