We rely on a solid team ethos with x-team collaboration, conducted in an open, honest and fun culture.We are looking for a Mobile Network Automation Architect that will be the Technical Architect driving forward automation capabilities and solutions across the Mobile Innovation Labs environments. The ideal candidate will work as part of a squad and be responsible for identifying and designing test solutions for our ever-evolving technical and business challenges. You will be responsible for ascertaining solutions by applying relevant processes and practices, using tools and technology, and applying soft skills such as effective communication and mentoring of members of your squad, the wider technology delivery teams, and our business partners and stakeholders.  As the Mobile Network Automation Architect, you will own our technical roadmap and design of solutions. As part of the squad, you will implement, use and enablement of testing solutions and work closely with the Mobile Innovation Lab delivery teams. You will ensure that approaches, tools and techniques are built into a relevant methodology and continually monitor, optimise, mentor, collaborate and improve testing tools and techniques across the mobile network. You will be based in any of our London, Birmingham, Bristol or Manchester offices with occasional travel requirements to other sites. In addition, you will require a security clearance when you join.You'll have the following responsibilitiesBe an evangelist for software development in Labs through providing consultancy, guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders to build communities.Monitor the effectiveness of testing methodologies and tools to drive improvements through insights gained via investigation at all stages of the e2e delivery lifecycle.Create Lab design patterns for re-use in future solution design settings, including the test requirements for regression testing and in life Quality Assurance.Utilise a broad knowledge of integration approaches, practices, and techniques to engage upfront in value streams, projects, programmes etc., to create the Technical Architecture elements of the overall solution design.Identify what testing tools and technologies can be implemented, aligning with those already used across the broader design and development functions and those being developed by our strategic technology partners.Seek out continuous learning and improvement opportunities to grow your capabilities and those of the team.Delight customers by delivering well tested, rapid, reliable, maintainable agile change while the team work at a sustainable pace.Be passionate about helping the business adopt technologies and engage with the broader business to identify opportunities for future work for your team.Able to work with minimal requirements and complex design information to experiment with solutions, develop proposals with design teams and develop detailed deployment plans.You'll have the following essential skills & experienceGood understanding of the architecture & principles underpinning Cloud Native Mobile Networks from 2G-5G (BT's mobile services to consumer and enterprise customers).A deep understanding of DevOps, Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery pipelines.Experience with automation systems and cloud (AWS) technologies.Experience in identifying testing solutions to Technology & Business developments and driving the adoption of new technologies and processes to provide better quality and delivery methodologies appropriate to diverse service and business requirements.Recent experience and level of proficiency in a wide range of technical areas, including several from:     A high level of experience in the automation of platform build and support operations (e.g. Puppet, Velocity, Jenkins)Automation of testing with technologies such as Spirent iTest, Landslide and Avalanche, Segron & Ericsson AAT- Networking and network packet analysis techniquesKnowledge of technologies such as Spirent iTest, Landslide and Avalanche, Segron & Ericsson AAT.Ability to communicate effectively to a wide array of stakeholders, technical and non-technicalAbility to investigate and assess technical and business requirements to define effective & efficient test architecture focussing on automation and tooling solutions within the Network domain.Ability to work with internal and external design and development teams/suppliers to assess and implement new technologies/delivery methodologies to drive continuous improvement and efficiency, e.g., CI/CD, Agile, Waterfall.A high level of proficiency with DevOps, Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery pipelinesCurrent experience troubleshooting complex issues spanning multiple systems.The following skills & experience are nice to haveMobile Network knowledge: 2G/3G/4G/VoLTE & IMS/ 5G NSA (EN-DC), 5G Stand-AloneExperience communicating updates to senior stakeholdersDemonstration of a solid ability to assimilate information and learn new systems quickly. BenefitsCompetitive salary25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)10% on target bonusLife AssurancePension schemeOption to join the Healthcare Cash Plan or other benefits such as dental insurance, gym memberships etc.50% off BT and EE mobile pay monthly or SIM only plansExclusive colleague discounts on our latest and greatest BT broadband packagesBT TV, including BT Sport and the NOW Entertainment membership, and 25% off NOW Sport, Cinema and Kids30% discount for friends and family on EE mobile pay monthly and SIM only plans
