The GCB4 Head of IAM Solution engineering role is based within HSBC's Identity & Access Management Cybersecurity function.  Identity & Access Management (IAM), in the first line of defence, serves as the focal point in Cybersecurity for access related activities ensuring that HSBC's electronic based assets are monitored, managed, accessed and protected effectively so that only those people with a legitimate business need can access or modify them.

 

 

Role Description:

The role of the Head of IAM Solution engineering will manage and lead a global team of SME's who would be responsible for designing, delivering solutions on Sailpoint, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), IAM integrations of regional and M&A. Reporting to Head of IAM technology, you will be responsible to ensure the solutions developed are fit for purpose and help protect the Bank and satisfy the customer. This includes providing technical guidance and directing the SME's to ensure solutions developed based on Sailpoint helps to increase the maturity of the overall IAM process and policies. In addition, manage the specialised automation teams such as RPA and ensure these are fully integrated while delivering the solutions. You would also be responsible for ensuring best practices while developing and maturing the services responsibly, engaging with colleagues across the function, department and wider organisation to deliver sustainable operational technologies that will allow the organisation to meet its control responsibilities.

A key part of this role will be supporting the delivery of major Cyber Security IAM programs providing significant uplift in IAM capability and maturity as part of the overall HSBC technology strategy.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure IAM Solutions that are developed and designed based on Sailpoint, RPA and other IAM technologies are operationally fit and meet the business goals. 
  • Working with a variety of stakeholders to turn control requirements into operational reality, with a focus on the user and constant drive for automation.
  • Leading a mature and skilled group of IAM SME's - overseeing all management and leadership activities including performance management, coaching, team agile development, resource and financial management.
  • Maintaining the highest standard of IT service for the services owned and work closely with the operational support team to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability on a 24x7 basis, and meeting audit and regulatory expectations.
  • Providing thought leadership to the broader IAM Technology function and contributing in a leadership role to the IAM Technology management team - promoting how IAM solutions can support other areas in meeting risk and compliance requirements. Helping to promote emerging technology and concepts to the wider IAM teams through education, knowledge sharing and challenging the status-quo.
  • Build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same  
  • Support project teams/managers, showing an understanding of the basic principles of project management

 

Requirements

Essential Skillset/Experience:

 

  • Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Strong demonstrable experience in Sailpoint IIQ design and development. Java development
  • Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Identity & Access management infrastructures
  • Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Cybersecurity, IT Operations
  • Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Identity and Access Governance (IGA) and other IAM products such as PAM
  • A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
  • Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver
  • A track record of making strategic business decisions, considering relevant risks, long term implications, commercial realities and stakeholders'' needs
  • Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results

 

Desirable Skillset/Experience:

 

  • Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of RPA, Database such as MS SQL.  
  • Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Windows and UNIX server based. 
  • Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. IAM/Risk and/or IT. 
  • Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Team Leader, IT Service Owner.

 

 

In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate will have a passion for both Identity & Access Management and large scale technology infrastructure and development.  They will thrive in a complex and challenging technical environment and will drive delivery utilising highly technical resources using an agile methodology. The candidate will understand the importance of growing, and mentoring the existing team to help achieve our overall goals and deliver value.

 

 

 

The role will be based in London. Availability to undertake travel is required for this role i.e. Ad-hoc international travel
