Role Purpose
Every single client of HSBC and every single stakeholder in our business is impacted at a personal and business level by the sustainability crisis and recognition that our current economic system is not sustainable. As a result, future economic stability and opportunities are in serious jeopardy. COVID has demonstrated beyond all reasonable doubt just how fragile our system is, that banks are expected to play a leading role in dealing with and mitigating future sustainability impacts, and that capital is shifting to reward those embedding ESG in their business and investment approach.
We therefore need to re-think how to support our clients in their transition, in the face of this ESG shift, including assistance in efficiently accessing the markets in the light of fast evolving and increasing focus on ESG by capital providers, public and private. This is the purpose of the ESG Solutions Group.
This is an important role within the ESG Strategic Solutions Group based in London. The candidate will provide strategic advice to all clients (corporates, financial institutions, public sector) on sustainable finance and the ESG ecosystem. The candidate will also contribute to new product development and advisory solutions, with a particular focus on ECM, Advisory, and LAF.
The role involves pitching clients, product development and the execution of transactions, as well as providing thought leadership to the business within HSBC and representing the bank on a variety of external industry bodies.
The role is based in London and has an EMEA remit, while also supporting clients in other jurisdictions, where needed.

o Manage the use of customer insight and intelligence to build a better understanding of client needs, ensuring the business takes full advantage of HSBC’s strong market position in sustainable finance and translate that into positive actions.

• Actively contribute in delivering the strategic plans for acquiring, growing and developing customer relationships using sustainable finance expertise.
• Regulator/external and Internal bodies: building and maintaining relationships with external and Internal partners, Regulators, industry bodies and others to keep up to date with developments (e.g. ICMA, PRI, Platform on Sustainable Financing)
• Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
