You will be working within one of our Agile delivery teams across either John Lewis or Waitrose, where we continue to make significant investment in developing our technology capabilities, skills and underpinning technologies.  We have a strong in-house engineering capability which has been at the heart of our move onto a cloud-hosted micro-service orientated platforms to exceed our customer expectations and deliver our Partnership plan.

Working with Product Managers and Engineering teams, you will be instrumental in taking products from their conception through to implementation, utilising your passion for delivery and technology.  You will have an excellent understanding of agile frameworks and how to define and deliver solutions interactively and collaboratively in order to achieve business outcomes and value.

Please note: Starting salary for this role will be between £57,000 and £75,000

What you’ll be doing as a Delivery Lead

As an experienced Delivery Lead, you will be confident and resilient and thrive in a high paced environment, with a focus on quality, ensuring the delivery aligns with the needs of the business, whilst also being supportable and maintainable.

  • Driving our product delivery through working closely with Product and Engineering to release value as early as possible.

  • Work collaboratively with the teams to release software to Production in a regular and controlled manner, ensuring it is monitored, and helping the team plan for issues which may arise from changes to the software.

  • Have a curiosity and understanding of the technology stacks the team are developing in order to add value to decision making in the team.

  • Facilitate agile events and champion agile best practice, coaching and mentoring the team utilising key metrics to provide predictability and high performing teams.

  • Quickly surface challenges, working with the team to resolve impediments so that they can focus on delivering value iteratively.

What you’ll have or are working towards

We believe that each Delivery Lead is individual and promote people to bring new experiences and ways of doing things to the role, although it would be great if you have some of the following:

  • Passion for building and and developing high performing, cross functional, digital teams

  • Deep understanding of Retail IT Delivery in a lean and agile environment

  • Understanding of cloud and and microservice technology

  • Working knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Lean and DevOps frameworks

What do we offer

You’ll be joining part of a great team, who have a real passion for their profession, delivery and working for two great brands and you will have a ‘home’ location of either our Head Offices in London Victoria or Bracknell.

Although assigned to a Head Office the Partnership encourages a blended working approach to work flexibly from home and across the Bracknell and London sites, depending on the needs of the role - blended working gives the trust to go where the work takes you.

We also have a great benefits package including the following:

  • Blended working

  • Discount at both John Lewis and Waitrose

  • 25 days holiday

  • Exclusive use of Partnership Hotels

  • Equal parental leave

  • Bonus

  • And much more…

Whilst you will have an office base - we promote a blended approach to working location. In order to maximise the benefits of remote and team working, you will be able to work from either our offices or from a remote location (as long as it is within the UK).  We'll expect flexibility and will on occasions require you to be in the office. But for these roles, it would be reasonable to plan on the basis of a 60/40 remote/office split.  In practice, we aim to maximise flexibility and these decisions will mostly be made locally within your team
