Job Description

As Social Media Supplier Funding Lead, you will be responsible for planning, strategy and executing social media campaign for our key supplier brands such as Apple, Sweaty Betty and Samsung. This important role includes the development of content, activating paid media and driving key metrics such as revenue, awareness and engagement.

This is an important leadership role that influences the trade activity of John Lewis Partnership suppliers and focuses largely on paid social marketing and driving good performance, content creation, insights and a good understanding of community management.

What will you be doing?

You will brief and consult with the paid media and audience team internally and via our agencies to ensure audience reach is effective and budget is maximised through reach, engagement, key ROI metrics and brand promotion. In the role, you will form a compelling strategy that creates an environment where John Lewis is visible to engaged audiences at the appropriate touchpoints and with clearly defined guidelines.

This role involves the coaching and development of a team of subject matter experts to deliver John Lewis supplier brands’ customer goals within the overall context of balancing sales and contribution whilst delivering a consistent brand and partner experience. 

You will be accountable for liaising with key internal and external stakeholders and ensure activity is always developing and relationships are commercially sustainable and nurtured.

Budgeting and forecasting across social are key within this role and you will actively seek to increase commercial awareness and are able to use this to provide context and advice on business proposals.

Senior Leadership skills are required with a management of 7 in the team as well as managing senior stakeholders both internally and across supplier brands to foster strong relationships and trust across the organisation. 

What you'll have

  • Excellent experience of paid media either at agency or client side.

  • Media and ad agency experience 

  • Experience in building and delivering social media strategies and business plans across all platforms and including paid, earned, owned.

  • Team management and development - ideally of +4 direct reports.

  • Large budget management of +£1M annually.

  • Multiple senior stakeholder management with strong levels of communication for presenting, reporting and influencing.

  • Insight and analytics - experience in reporting, social media analytics and listening.

What else could you bring?

  • Experience leading, coaching and developing individuals

  • Influencer management experience

  • Online experience within retail

  • Marketing/Business related degree or equivalent experience

  • Understanding of the digital landscape including other digital channels eg programmatic
