Job Description

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as an Actuarial Manager in the Global Integrated Reporting team of Group Insurance. The successful candidate will be part of a new and growing global team, working together with local entities to produce accurate, timely and consistent IFRS17 insurance accounts.

Please note the successful candidate will be able to be based anywhere within the UK.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the local entities in the running of current tools, especially the proxy model calibration tools.
  • Develop the process for reporting non-GAAP financials (e.g. Value of New Business/Embedded Value).
  • Improve the IFRS17 Valuation and Forecasting processes.
  • Carry out various testing programmes to ensure new models and workflows are compliant with standards.
  • Work closely with local actuarial teams to ensure smooth execution of the IFRS17 reporting process.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet most of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative subject.
  • Qualified or making good progress with the actuarial examination from an International Actuarial Association recognized actuarial body.
  • Experience with reporting processes and the reporting control environment
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17 or proxy models will be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability of planning and problem solving.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to bring analytical rigour and structure and effective solutions to poorly-defined problems.
  • Strong communication skills - applicable through multiple channels (written, spoken, workshops, presentations).
  • Working knowledge of Python and Prophet
