Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
Role Description:
The Technical Lead Engineer is pivotal in this structure; they will lead, grow and be the main technologist within one of these Agile teams. Working directly with a group of 5-13 engineers of varying skill sets and seniority, partnering with the scrum master and product owner to collectively delivery robust and highly performant Products. They will have support and collaborative input from the SVS Principal Engineer and Architects to ensure we drive forward HSBC’s 5-year technology strategy - speed, scale, resilience and people.
We work across a wide breadth of varying technologies depending on the team and product vision. Including industry standard and those specific to HSBC, some of the tech you can expect to see here is;
This is a hands-on role that can have a substantial focus on people and team management (as required). We see the core responsibilities of this role being across team and technical leadership, stakeholder management, customer engagement and operational excellence.
