ROLE RESPONSIBILITY

 

Purpose of role:            

Play a key role in delivering annual category marketing strategy noting priorities from the business and facilitating these through relationships with brand partners. The Assistant Marketing Manager is a responsible for guiding brand partners in their opportunities to work with Selfridges to engage key customers, building trust and strong relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders to bring these marketing moments to life.

 

KEY SKILLS AND AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

  • Key roles and responsibilities including:

 

  • Building and maintaining strong, strategic relationships with fashion brand partners, working to understand their priorities and acting as a lead contact from the marketing team to facilitate the internal navigation required to secure support for products, launches and key moments.

 

  • Understand the media opportunities for brands to invest in and be able to speak confidently to the benefit of a brand partnership with Selfridges.

 

  • Establish relationships with the wider marketing team, updating and informing of key upcoming brand and category moments in order to collate a channel response and update the brand partner/business with key stories and the amplification agreed.

 

  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders for the category in order to align conversations around key opportunities, conversations and support allocated to brand partners.

 

  • Guide, constructively challenge, and advocate for, well-thought through and validated copy and content per campaign, ensuring outputs are relevant and aligned with broader Selfridges messaging.

 

  • Work closely with the Marketing Project Management Team to track progress with brand contribution targets, identifying risks, finding solutions and planning as a team to establish best practice in process for realising brand activations and campaigns with required internal teams.

 

  • Practise continuous research of brand partner activations outside of the Selfridges relationships to understand their priorities, requirements and approach to activating in the wider media landscape.  

 

  • Work with channel planning marketing team to consistently validate marketing strategy for our category campaigns, ensuring clear, rationalised, and measurable objectives, customer targeting, KPIs and validated customer journey(s). Utilise customer research and insights to determine appropriate marketing-mix and vehicles per campaign and continuously demonstrate understanding of both our customer and the divisions that we support.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Experience:

 

  • Experience and understanding of retail landscape
  • Proven marketing/partnership experience, ideally working with partnerships in a luxury environment

 

Technical Skills:

 

  • Excel, PowerPoint
  • Analytical/numerical skills
