The Role
Cabin Performance Team (Part M) are responsible for the continued airworthiness and overall condition of the cabins for all our British Airways fleet. This role gives you the opportunity to make a difference for our passengers by ensuring we create maintenance programmes that allow our engineers to maintain the cabins to the high standard that is expected of British Airways.
We are currently introducing new Business Class seats onto our fleet involving reconfigurations, resulting in new products in other areas of the cabin and new IFE systems. As part of this role you will be looking after the embodiment of these, whilst working with our Part 21 team to ensure the MRO is equipped to complete the work on time, on budget and to our exacting standards. The team are involved in the delivery of new aircraft, ensuring maintenance programmes are in place for when aircraft go into service.
If you are a great team player with a good level of technical knowledge and have a thirst for learning then this is the role for you. You will be working with both a number of key stakeholders within Engineering, our product teams, plus flight crew and cabin crew to help improve the aircraft for everyone as well as working with the OEMs including Boeing and Airbus to resolve in-service issues.
Working as a Cabin Performance Engineer requires detail and resilience to a demanding workload. The reward of being involved in high level projects that really make a difference make it all worth it. You will be given a portfolio of products and/or aircraft types to manage, which will help build your knowledge to become a subject matter expert. You will get exposure up to board level as you will be asked to occasionally give progress updates to our Leadership Team.
Our team also provide support to engineers working on our aircraft by providing guidance and repair solutions to ensure our aircraft continue to fly in a safe and secure condition. The ability to think quickly but safely in a high pressure environment is a must.
